A few definitions to help you, the reader, understand what it is that we do.

Repair Appraisals (Post Loss) ~ This type of appraisal is used to establish the extent of the damages incurred to the subject unit, as well as the cost of repair. Repair appraisals are also used to properly complete repairs to the subject vehicle or unit, or establish the item as a total loss.

Market Value Assessments (Actual Cash Value Report - ACV) ~
(For Insuring Purposes, Settlements, & Sale). A large part of the appraisal process is to determine the value of the particular unit, which has been damaged or is subject to financing, insuring or sale. The use of market value assessments allow the insurer to decide, in the case of a loss, if the unit is a total loss, or repairable. Market values are also used to determine the value, which the vehicle should be insured, sold or financed.

In appraising a vehicle’s value, there is more to be done than simply looking at a book. There are many factors to take into consideration in order to complete a proper and accurate appraisal. These are some of the factors, which we follow:

Mileage (or hours)
Condition (of paint, sheet metal, mechanical, glass, tires, upholstery, etc.)
Reconditioning (required for reselling the vehicle or unit)
OEM Options
Extra Options (added or removed)
Vehicle History (personal, commercial, industrial, etc.)

Many people do not understand just how much actually goes into appraising the value of a vehicle. It is very important that all of the above categories be completed in order to have a proper and accurate appraised value of the vehicle. If not, the vehicle may be over valued, or even worst, under valued.
